This 16 week training plan is designed to prepare you for the Peaks Challenge Falls Creek (3 Peaks) event. This is an intermediate level plan aiming to get you to the finish in under 10 hours.
The plan is split up into four training blocks, each block will target different aspects that you will need to complete this event successfully. Peaks Challenge is one of the hardest events you can do for most of us, 235km and 4000+ metres of climbing. You need to have a good plan, time to train, motivation and appropriate support to get through this training and the event itself.
Volume increases from week 1 at just under 9 hours to just over 18 hours in week 14, you need to factor this in when you commit to this training plan. Ideally, you will also need access to some hilly or mountainous terrain for many of the training sessions. The longest rides expect you to ride for up to 8 hours with up to 3000m of climbing.
